Spike the Dog is the loyal family pet of the Pickles family and Tommy Pickles' best “animal” friend. He is a fictional Siberian Tiger Hound who is especially protective of Tommy, Dil, and the other Rugrats, often sensing danger before the adults do. Although he is usually a silent dog, Spike's intelligence, loyalty, curiosity, and courage make him an important part of the children's adventures. He also becomes romantically paired with Fifi, a purple-and-white poodle, and eventually becomes a father to their puppies.
