Gin Ichimaru is the former Captain of the Gotei 13's 3rd Division who initially appears to be a loyal ally of Sosuke Aizen. Gin Ichimaru is known for his unsettling smile, sly personality, and habit of keeping his true intentions hidden from nearly everyone around him. Although he betrays Soul Society alongside Aizen and Kaname Tosen, Gin has secretly spent years preparing to take revenge on Aizen for what happened to Rangiku Matsumoto. His Zanpakutō, Shinso, and its Bankai, Kamishini no Yari, make him one of the most deceptive and dangerous fighters in the series.
