Uryu Ishida is a proud Quincy and one of Ichigo Kurosaki's closest allies in Bleach. Initially distrustful of Soul Reapers, Uryu's rivalry with Ichigo gradually develops into a strong friendship as they repeatedly fight together against powerful enemies. His Quincy abilities allow him to manipulate spiritual energy into devastating ranged attacks, while his intelligence and precision make him a formidable fighter. During the Thousand-Year Blood War, Uryu's loyalties become complicated when he joins the Wandenreich and is given a place among the Stern Ritter.
