Miguel Rivera is a 12-year-old aspiring musician who dreams of becoming a great guitarist despite his family's generations-old ban on music. On Día de los Muertos, his determination leads him into the Land of the Dead, where he uncovers surprising truths about his family's history and his musical heritage. Alongside Héctor, Miguel learns that remembering loved ones and honoring family are just as important as following his dreams. His courage, creativity, and love of music ultimately help bring his family back together.
