📖 Biography
Spawn is the supernatural anti-hero identity of Al Simmons, a former elite government operative who is betrayed and murdered after leaving his violent career. Simmons makes a pact with the demon Malebolgia and returns to Earth as a Hellspawn, gaining extraordinary powers at the cost of his soul and humanity. Rather than serve Hell as commanded, Spawn turns against both demonic and supernatural forces while protecting innocent people caught in the conflict. His struggle with his past, his powers, and the forces seeking to control him defines him as one of Image Comics' most distinctive anti-heroes.
