Meathead is a scruffy brown alley cat who first appears as a rival to Tom in the classic Tom and Jerry shorts. Although he is often portrayed as dull-witted, Meathead can be aggressive and becomes a recurring member of Tom's circle of alley-cat friends and foes. His relationship with Tom shifts depending on the story, sometimes putting them on opposing sides and other times making them partners in mischief. Meathead has remained a recognizable supporting character through later Tom and Jerry television series, films, and games.
