Maid Marian is the legendary heroine of the Robin Hood tradition and is most often portrayed as Robin Hood's beloved and trusted ally. Across different versions of the story, she has been depicted as a noblewoman, a skilled archer, and a courageous woman who refuses to stand by while others suffer. Her intelligence, compassion, and independence have made her much more than a traditional damsel in distress. In Disney's Robin Hood, she is portrayed as a gentle but spirited fox who eventually reunites with Robin and marries him.
