Loki Laufeyson is the adopted son of Odin and the biological son of the Frost Giant king Laufey, making him both a prince of Asgard and heir to Jotunheim. Although he has often served as one of Thor's greatest enemies, Loki has repeatedly fought alongside heroes when circumstances demanded it.
