Whitebeard, also known as Edward Newgate, was one of the most powerful pirates of the Great Pirate Era. As captain of the Whitebeard Pirates and one of the Four Emperors, he built his crew around a powerful sense of family and treated his followers as his sons. His Gura Gura no Mi gave him the ability to create devastating vibrations and earthquakes, adding to his reputation as the world's strongest man. Whitebeard ultimately gave his life during the Paramount War while protecting his crew and helping shape the next era of piracy.
